Across May and September 2024, researchers from Swansea University worked in partnership with local domestic abuse charity Stori Cymru to facilitate workshops with people who have lived experience of Domestic Violence and Abuse (DVA). The aim of these in-person workshops was to explore their priorities for how health researchers and practitioners should work with people affected by abuse, and what key issues they think would be most impactful for research using existing data to address.
This report reflects on the process of two rounds of workshops to co-produce those priorities and highlights recommendations made by people with lived experience for how they can be empowered to prioritise, design and deliver health research and interventions in partnership with professionals.

The people who took part in this project have highlighted areas of research which they feel would have the greatest impact on health and wellbeing, with a particular focus on issues affecting families and the way in which crucial services are provided.
