How do daily routines from sleep and physical activity to dietary habits interact to influence children’s behaviour?

Researchers at the Centre for Population Health at Swansea University have released a new preprint offering an early look at key health factors impacting school-aged children across Wales.

Using data from over 50,000 children in the HAPPEN Wales cohort, the team examined how everyday lifestyle patterns work together rather than in isolation. The early findings highlight the critical role that joined-up health habits, particularly consistent sleep routines and nutrition, play in supporting children’s overall well-being and daily behaviour.

While the full peer-reviewed study will be released soon, the preliminary research is available to read now.
